Weekly Recap 🚀
Biomedical Career Pathways: Big thanks to the VCOM representatives for taking the time to join us and share information about their program and experiences. Not only did I learn about Osteopathic Medicine but I also got a lesson in the correct pronunciation of 'Appalachian.' ⛰️
Daylight Savings: Spring forward, fall back – it's that time of year again when we adjust our clocks for Daylight Saving Time. As we set our clocks back an hour, we gain a little extra sleep and also say hello to those earlier sunsets.

Topic of the week 🧠
Why is being scared so fun: I know a lot of us have been spending our recent breaks indulging in thrilling horror movies, and I stumbled upon this Ted Talk by Margee Kerr where she explains the overlap in Fear and Fun. If you have ever wondered why people willingly choose to be scared this is the Ted Talk for you!

Hey everyone, hope all is well and this week is off to a great start. I am putting together the group for potential SMP MNTS writers. It is fully volunteer based and the time commitment is as much or as little as you want it to be, you can even sign up for a single lecture if you think you would make a great note set and want to share it for a given lecture. Please reach out to me by email or text if you would like to be added to the group. Great opportunity to get involved in the SMP and keep yourself accountable for SFII. Good luck with the rest of this week’s studies.

Hey everyone! Can’t believe that we are slowly approaching thanksgiving break! With the end of SFII this week, I want to remind everyone that just because it is out of sight, does not mean out of mind, and that by chipping away at understanding this content a little bit at a time, we will all CRUSH our SFII exam!!!
Anyways, in terms of this week's wellness update, we have a few events coming up that will leave you all warm in the hearts and full in the belly! On Monday, November 13th at 6PM we are doing a SMP Friendsgiving Potluck to celebrate the little family we have created in our short time together. Details are included in the graphic made by Clarisa (s/o her graphic design skills). Please sign up to bring food/drink in the google sheet linked here! Also, make sure you pay your dues, as it will help you get access to this event and several others that we are planning for the remainder of this semester and into the spring!
As it was so popular at the last block exams, I am looking forward to bringing back the pups for another puppy therapy session before block exams! All dogs will be welcome! Date is TBD at this moment, but will likely be the week of our first block exam (December 4-8).
Look for me around DML come exam season for various wellness goodies, including snacks, coffee, breakfast, etc!
Finally, because I know you have all been dying to meet him, here is a picture of my new miniature dachshund, Alfie :)
