Welcome back to Sunday Snippets, your weekly source of updates, events, and the occasional chuckle
Get ready this week for a paw-sitively fantastic time at our FIRST SMP EVENT, Pups and Pizza! It's just the start of an incredible lineup of events we have planned for you this year. 🎉
But here's the scoop: To make all these awesome events happen, we need your support and we are requesting class dues of $40 from each of you for the whole year. Your dues will help us bring you more fun gatherings and memorable experiences throughout the year. So please keep an eye out for an email from me later this week with more information on how and when to send them.
Plus, here's a bonus: Paying your dues ensures that when SMProm rolls around, you'll receive a special discounted rate for your ticket. 🎟️
Got questions or concerns? Don't hesitate to reach out. We can't wait to see you all there on Friday for Pups and Pizza!

Topics of the week 🧠
Now, I'm definitely not sponsored by Headspace, but with exams looming, let's talk sleep and recovery. We all aim for that sweet spot of 7-9 hours of beauty rest, but life often has other ideas.
Late-night work, Netflix binges, and cramming for the next PoP quiz can wreak havoc on our sleep patterns and leave us feeling like zombies.
Enter the hero of the hour: Power napping 😴
These short naps are like a turbocharge for your mind and body. They can rev up your mood, boost your focus, and supercharge your decision-making skills. So, remember, self-care is your secret weapon, especially during the exam season. A well-rested you is a confident you. So let’s get out there and Ace Block 1 exams.

Hey, Physios! You are all doing great! I know this week ahead will be daunting, but I believe you will all rise to the occasion! Take advantage of all of the resources available to you this week as you make final preparations. Please get plenty of rest, go outside to get some sunlight in between study blocks, and eat well. We all should know by now that our brain is a little glucose-hungry monster. Thank you, Dr. Nakai! I am available anytime for questions, comments, concerns, or just needing a post-study chat. Work hard, and a well-deserved break awaits us during intercession. I look forward to seeing you all this week! Go Physios!

One final quick note, I wanted to let you all know that I am running for Graduate Student Government as the Senator for the Physiology programs. I would be excited to represent you all and bring your ideas and concerns to the graduate school administration and help to foster positive change! Elections run all week, ending on Friday the 22nd. I would appreciate your vote and if not for me, please still vote, as there will be others running for the position, and we should all have representation. Look out for the link this week!

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope everyone had a good weekend. Big week coming up with a lot of exam prep and I hope it's a great, productive week for everyone. Remember to stay organized and not stress out too much with all the studying going on. If you have any other responsibilities this week (med school secondaries, casper, anything else) try to get that out of the way so all your focus can go towards exam prep heading into Sept. 26th. Let me know if I can help in any way with both SMP related things, other related things, and just be a soundboard for whatever you have to deal with this week. Happy studying.
